**This is not a New Edge Figure Skating Club sponsored event**
We are excited to announce the 46th Annual Royal Oak Ice Show:
A La Mode:
The Sweetest Show on Ice
Show Dates: May 2 & 3, 2026
Solo/Feature Tryouts: Sunday, November 23, 2025, Noon - 2:30pm
We highly recommend trying out in person, as judges get a much stronger sense of your skating and, most importantly, your performance skills. If you are unable to attend tryouts, we will accept video submissions. Videos and tryout music must be sent to royaloakiceshow@gmail.com by November 20, 2025.
Eligibility
All skaters must have passed Pre-Preliminary Skating Skills and Singles tests by November 12, 2025.
Only NEFSC first-club skaters are eligible for solos.
Skaters from other clubs are welcome to participate in the show if they have a current USFS membership, and are eligible to try out, but would be placed in a duet or feature.
Judging Criteria
Judges will be seated in the stands, so be sure to tailor your program toward them. Skaters will be evaluated on skating skills, execution of elements (jumps, spins, edge moves, etc.), and overall performance quality. Remember, this is a show! Presentation IS what matters:
If your music is dramatic, bring that drama to your performance.
If your music is upbeat, skate with energy, joy, and expression.
NEW THIS YEAR
The two NEFSC skaters who also sign up for the Opening Number at registration and earn the highest presentation marks at tryouts will receive a special spotlight feature within the Opening Number.
Registration
Registration will open in early October 2025 and is due November 20th.
Commitment to Practices
When registering for the ice show, you are acknowledging your commitment to rehearsals scheduled between April 6 – April 30, 2026. Each group typically has 5–6 practices. Last year, unfortunately, some skaters missed the majority of their practices and failed to notify coaches, which negatively impacted their groups. This is unfair to fellow skaters and coaches and makes practices less effective for everyone. PLEASE KEEP THIS IN MIND: Participation requires commitment to being present at scheduled practices. It is an expectation that skaters attend all practices.
We can’t wait to see your creativity and performance shine as we head into another unforgettable
Ice Show season!
